The start of school is looming so close and I realize how art-lazy I’ve gotten over the summer and I start frantically pretending to be other artists.

This series is for Digital Illustration with Sam Bosma. Yes. He’s my teacher and it’s awesome. He lets me draw pirate bullfighters.

Remember these guys? The Shadow and the Flame are some characters I dreamed up (literally) in January and never bothered to name. He’s a teenage con man, she’s a fifteen-year-old murderess, and that’s about all I’ve got right now. I’d really like to make something with them, though.
I guess the core idea is that she starts out antisocial with serious anger-management problems and the beginnings of a body count, and he starts out flirty and mischievous but not actually malicious. The more they hang around each other, though, the more they bring out certain traits in each other: he teaches her to lie and cheat to get her way, and she brings out the brutality in him. So basically they just make each other worse. Isn’t that cute!
